Preparations
Before downloading and installing any driver software for use with this connector, read the system requirements for the connector for your version of Spotfire. Make sure that your database version and driver version is supported in your version of Spotfire.

You can use the Spotfire Connector for Hortonworks to connect to the following data source types:
To use the Hortonworks connector, you must install the Hortonworks ODBC Driver for Apache Hive on your computer.
Downloading the Hortonworks ODBC Driver for Apache Hive

In a web browser, go to the Hortonworks Data Platform downloads web page.

In the list of downloads, locate and download the latest version of the Hortonworks ODBC Driver for Apache Hive appropriate for your environment (32-bit or 64-bit).

To connect to Amazon EMR Hive, use the Connector for Hortonworks (Files and data > Connect to > Hortonworks).

To connect to Microsoft Azure HDInsights Hive in Spotfire, you use the Connector for Hortonworks (Files and data > Connect to > Hortonworks).
When you connect to Microsoft Azure HDInsights Hive, you must have installed the Microsoft® Hive ODBC Driver on your computer. The driver is available for download from Microsoft.

Click Download, and, in the list of driver versions, select the version of the driver appropriate for your environment (32-bit or 64-bit). Then click Next to start the download.

How it is useful: This is useful to connect hortonworks stream data from HCatalog to bring to MS excel to visualize
Step1: Get hold on ip address of the VM box
Step2: Locate Hortonworks hive ODBC drive to download (HortonworksHiveODBC64.msi) it will end with 32 bit system if you are working on a 32 bit operating system
Step3: Configure the ODBC Drive:
Hit Windows + F: Will open a search dialogue on right side of screen
Type Administrative there, the relevant tool option will appear. Hit on that: Keep category Everywhere than FilesCloudera Odbc Driver Download
Hit Configure ( Refer next pic)
Then add details related to VM :
Then Hit test : To test the connectivity details:
